NEWS - Kentucky Lake Cruise - May 30, 2009

Several T/SA and Heartland of America Cruise members are planning to cruise Kentucky Lake starting May 30.

Kentucky Lake in May and early June is very comfortable with good winds from the west or south west in the day and cool temperatures at night that make cruising a pleasure.

The beauty of Kentucky Lake is that it is 4 miles wide and over 80 miles long. The lake has numerous large and uncongested coves all along the eastern shore - in a National Recreation area known as the Land Between the Lakes that provide an endless array of anchoring possibilites as well as areas to duck into in the event of foul weather. There are also numerous marinas further south that can be utilized if desired.

This cruise is open to everyone and anyone.

NEWS - 2009 North Channel Cruise dates

Main Cruise
The main cruise will will kick off with our traditional pot luck in Little Current on July 18 and conclude August 1. There will be a variety of float plans this year to accommodate families and different cruising styles. Details will appear in the spring edition of Clipper Snips as well as in the Discussion Group.

Early Bird Special
This cruise will assemble at Little Current on July 11th (one week before the main cruise), and leave the following morning. We plan a No-Float-Plan week of relatively lazy cruising. This will be suitable for experienced boats, and also for skippers with little or no cruising experience who seek a relaxed week of familiarization with cruising in the North Channel. This cruise is intended for T/SA members who are capable sailors with properly equipped vessels.

If you are not a T/SA member consider joining and cruising the North Channel
